All I can say it was very entertaining! The lighting crew used innovative ways to create the right ambiance to the stage. One of the 6 new projects rolled out under the 2007-2012 National Development Plan is the Construction of a Lecture Theatre Complex and a Performance Hall.

The ground breaking ceremony for the new student centre was held on 10th November 2010. The construction of the new extension started on 17th July 2010. The expected date of completion is 16th September 2011 with a contruction period of 14 months. The projects cost just over BND2 million and is located next to the existing student centre. This is one of six projects to be rolled out under the 2007-2012 National Development Plan.
The guest of honour for the event was the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Associate Profesor Dr Zohrah Hj Sulaiman.

Our MBWA continued with visits to Faculty of Business, Economics and Policy Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the University Store.

We also met one of our Estate Student attache, Ainol at one of the computer labs busy doing her assignment ~ digitising a topographical survey map done by UBD during the building of our current campus around 15 years ago.
We had our first MBWA (management by walking about) last week and visited the New Residential College, Male and Female Residential College, Visiting Lecturer Quaters, Universiti Mosque, Institute of Medicine, Faculty of Science and Student Affairs Building.
And along the way we met some students and also a few wild animals :)

These pictures were the concept drawings of the Residential College made by the Architect's team led by Siti Rozaimeryanti from Public Works Department way back in 2007. The contract was awarded to WSS Sdn Bhd at a cost of over B$27M in Oct 2007.

The New Residential College is located accross the road from the current Male Residential College. The new complex will house 440 students. It is scheduled for completion in April 2010. Overall progress: 80%

On campus accommodation at Universiti Brunei Darussalam is located just 4 minutes away, by foot from the faculty buildings. The pictures below feature the Female Residential College. In total, there is approximately 700 space for rent to students in both Female and Male Residential College. In my earlier posts, I have featured the currently under construction Residential College.
The rooms are highly popular amongst the UBD students.
The Female Residential College has 6 blocksand Male Residential College has 4 blocks.
View from the back. Due to the the campus's close proximity to the South China Sea, the inhabitants of the Residential College experience fresh sea breeze nearly all day..
A typical block is a 2 storey block, with the commonfacilties such as kitchen and bathrooms in the middle.

located within the central area.

repairs and cleaning works during this time.
